QUENTIN
Mommy will be so surprised when I tell her that I like buses. I am not even worried about touching things anymore. I am just happy that we did not go back to the house that is not home after Tall Girl showed up. I am also happy that the giant dog did not eat Quiet Girl, because that would have been sad. And her pajamas made me realize that we are on an adventure just like Dora, and we even have a map. Dora takes buses and trains like we do, and she does not worry about getting sick, so maybe I should not worry, either.
A bus rocks back and forth, and it feels nice. And no one is talking, so it is nice and quiet.
I also like trains; the train is quiet too, and it seems very efficient. There are many signs inside that tell you how to lose weight and who to call if you have been in an accident, and all of that seems very helpful. I think Mommy would be happy to know that trains can be helpful and that there is a lot of information there that people need.
I will take Mommy on a bus and a train, to show her that it is not so bad. She can bring the special spray for our hands to take care of the germs and then we will not have to worry so much about touching things.
I think Mommy will like the bus, and then we can take it everywhere and see things like the Aquarium of the Pacific, where there is a New Sea Jellies Exhibit: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Every Day of the Year Except Christmas! The sign on the train had a picture of a jellyfish and two kids pointing at it with big smiles. Jellyfish are nice and quiet, and maybe we can take one home with us and I can keep it in a bowl next to my R2-D2 clock.
Vic does not seem to be enjoying the bus ride, he keeps bumping into me and his eyes are closed and he is still white—so white. He is not talking, either, even though he is always talking. I think about telling Tall Girl that Vic is not talking, but she does not look like she wants to talk, either, so instead I read the helpful signs that are also on the bus (If you or someone you know has mesothelioma, call 1-888-Sue-Fast; Cash for Gold! Three locations, open daily, turn your old jewelry into coin!; Need to lose weight fast? Try Shred Fat! Sue Fast and Shred Fat are close to the same, I think).
Quiet Girl is looking at me. I show her the signs and whisper, “Shred Fat and Sue Fast!” and she giggles. I like Quiet Girl. Maybe she could come live with me and Mommy and the jellyfish, and then she would smile more.
